New video from the Royal Welsh Show focuses on rural ministry in Wales
How can churches better support farming families and strengthen rural communities?
Filmed at the Royal Welsh Show, Cytûn’s latest video brings together Christian leaders and organisations working across rural Wales to explore the challenges and opportunities facing rural ministry today.
Supporting good mental health and wellbeing is one of Cytûn’s public policy priorities. Cytûn is also committed to equipping churches to work together in ministry, mission and service, enabling a compassionate and collaborative Christian presence in communities across Wales.
The discussion is chaired by Captain Kathryn Stowers, Chair of Cytûn, Ecumenical Officer for The Salvation Army in Wales and Royal Welsh Show Chaplain.
The panel features:
- Jon Stockley, National Director of Christian Vision for Men (CVM) Cymru, which equips churches to reach and disciple men across Wales.
- Rachael Aka, Project Officer (Wales) with Farming Community Network (FCN), the Christian charity providing practical and pastoral support to farmers and farming families across Wales and the UK.
- Archdeacon Eileen Davies, representing Tir Dewi, the Welsh charity offering free, confidential pastoral support to farmers and their families throughout Wales.
- Revd Aled Davies, a minister serving in a rural context and a member of Cytûn’s Events Team.
Together, the panel explores how churches and specialist organisations can work in partnership to address rural isolation, promote good mental health and wellbeing, strengthen community resilience, and offer practical hope to farming families and rural communities.
Recorded at one of Wales’ most significant gatherings for the agricultural community, the discussion highlights the value of churches working together across denominational boundaries to serve rural Wales through practical action, pastoral care and a shared Christian witness.
